Air Barber

When Marion Barber -- the newest cast member of Heroes -- was asked about his secret to horizontal hang time, he replied that he jumped into the air like normal, hoping for a few extra yards, when suddenly he remembered that the tax extension he filed back on the 15th of April at 11:59PM expires next month -- and he forgot to fall down. He glided past a slack-jawed defense for an easy score.

When the Browns head coach Romeo Crennell came to his senses, he protested the game. Though nothing has been made offical yet, league sources have indicated that their investigation has revealed trace amounts of flubber on bottom of Barber's cleats.

That's my caption. Care to give it a crack?

Ah, I understand the urge; but alas I cannot. Even though the Giants won the Superbowl, it's the Patriots that set the standard of excellence in the league. I think to be the best you have to beat the best, and the Giants certainly did that, and nobody can deny the magnitude of the miracle they pulled off. If the Cowboys go all the way to the Superbowl and beat a team like San Diego, there will always be the asterisk to accompany the final score. Nice, they'll say, but lucky for them Brady was hurt.

Douglas Adams wrote that the art of flying is to hurl yourself at the ground and miss. Loosely paraphrased.

Actually Ned I totally lifted this from Douglas Adams.

I don't know about a caption, but I am very proud to remind you that Marion Barber is from University of Minnesota, my alma mater. Go Gophers!!!

LOL - I usually like to do witty captions but American football is not one of my specialties.

Yeah, I read your profile and realized - oh. He knew that already.

Well, I hate to say this, but I think it's your year. I don't see anyone, including us, stopping you guys.

One thing I am sure of is the balance of power has shifted. NFC team beats AFC team in the SB. Guaranteed. I think the Steelers may be the only team that have a chance.

Peyton Manning has already played his best years and the Colts are on their way down. Last year was their last top tier year. And we all know Brady's out for the season so, so much for the Pats.

Oh, and Favre can only take a 4-12 team so far. Maybe 9-7 and one and out in the Playoffs at best?

By the way, we're going to be rocking the Heroes this year, yes? You will liberally comment and I shall do the same?
