Status Update

Quickly.

I had my wisdom teeth removed on Friday. Call me Bill Murray if you will, but I have really enjoyed the whole experience. I love that (cue the Eagles, Mr. DJ) peaceful easy feeling of nitrous, and Vicoden is to die for. But best of all, my wife has been pampering me. I haven't had to lift a finger.

Freaks and Geeks. Rent it. It only lasted for a season, but it touched me. I'll admit to getting misty eyed when it was over. The characters where like old friends in the short time that we were together, and they grew up in the same era I did. I played D&D (Dungeons and Dragons) for instance. The pop references were dead on.

I'm working on season two of Dexter. My wife and I are hooked. Great writing and acting.

Still haven't talked to Dad, and I can't get my brother on the phone. Thanks for the support, all! I was touched by the comments.

Work is crazy, but I love it.

They keep saying I need to get my wisdom teeth pulled, but as long as they don't cause me any pain, I just don't see myself doing that!

I've heard great things about Freaks and Geeks, though I've never watched. Too bad it didn't capture the right audience at the time.

Glad that your wife is treating you right! :)

How's your scream ability? I could always use fresh sfx for the audio series ... :-)

I've heard such great things about "Freaks and Geeks." I'll have to check it out. Also, glad you are loving Dexter. I think it is just awesome.

I still have my wisdom teeth. One is still not in yet. I'm 37. No lie. I'm afraid to get them out because they're so far back and huge, but I too love me some nitrous-oxide. Oh yes.

Ah, must be nice to be one of those people for whom vicodin works.

I hope like heck that you didn't develop dry sockets at some point in your recovery. I don't recommend them at all.

Hope you are continuing to do well after your surgery. I saw the previews to Dexter. It looked like an interesting show.

SCOTT: Between the Vicodin and your wife, it seems you've had a few good days!

Hi Scott, I am stopping by because your comment about my story (GPS)on Jason's blog made me laugh so hard I had to come and "meet" you.

This is heavy family shit you are going through. I hate this stuff when I am going through it. No one has a perfect family. We all carry our baggage. I like to actually think of it like that. That we each are carrying around a suitcase holding our past family crap. Every once in a while, it is a good idea to open it up and lighten your load - get rid of the stuff that is not yours that you are carrying around for others. Get rid of your brother's stuff, and your father's. You are only responsible for your own stuff. Does that make sense?

I tried to read that Tolle book too. I couldn't. I was disappointed that I couldn't. I kept hearing how life changing it was for everyone and I wanted to experience that change too. And when it wasn't happening, I felt sad... I'm opened. I'm ready. Come on change... I understood it. I even agreed with it, but I just couldn't read it for some reason. Not the right time, I suppose.

But I will tell you I am reading his first book, The Power of Now, and I am enjoying it much more. It talks about the ego and all that in there as well. I actually think once I am done reading this one, I will be able to get into the second one more.

Best of luck to you!

Another excellent series is "Six Feet Under."

As for "Freaks & Geeks" it supposedly takes place in Michigan, not too far from where I live. The writer went to school on my side of town.
