A Better System

Eve has inspired me to clean my desk this morning. What I call a mess however is what Eve would consider classified per the Dewey Decimal System. You should check out her desk.

I am going to update my links soon, so for all those newbies who have been visiting lately, stay tuned.

Much work to do and snow accumulation on the way. Will chaos on Iraq take hold? Some people in India actually like us. China chooses their words to America carefully over Taiwan. Bush needs to explain himself to the people, but don’t hold your breath waiting for that to happen. Politicians are posturing over the Dubai port deal.

There needs to be a better system. Suggestions?

My desk is looking pretty good now, thank you very much! Now, if you don't look around the rest of the room ...

A better system? I think we need a really strong dictator to rule the world. I'm thinking Nora Roberts has the balls.

I am thinking about cleaning up my blog links and general webspace too--must be spring. Even redid my webpage which is nearly brand new!! (Haven't posted it yet).

And I meant to say about your blog name. My 3 year old son was screaming and crying and generally throwing himself around in my arms on Sunday. Red cheeks, tears, wet snotty nose. All because he couldn't watch TV--and I looked at him and thought, "Ah, it's Hard to Want'

A 'da ding' moment :)

Eve - I admit that the new desk looks a lot better, but there is still so much stuff on it that it is one step from oblivion. My own desk at home would be a lost cause if not for my wife...

Toni - Actually the concept of the name isn't that deep, but thanks for giving me so much credit. When I started this thing, I had stories to tell that didn't paint me in such a postive light, and actually thought I would make a case for all the friends and lovers that have left me behind. I took the name from an Andrew Dice Clay routine. "I don't play hard to get, I play hard to want."

LOL--well all I can say is the look on my son's face was so frustratedly determined--and so stripped of adult masks. It was a lovely moment. And you know what, we've all been left behind and been unwanted at some point in our lives, I can even relate to having dad issues, but some of us have been lucky enough to find wonderful people who put up with us on a daily basis. Isn't that great?

And I really can not imagine you as somebody who is hard to want.

My suggestion would be to let me take over. I would put all our money into the space program, then make up a fake war between Jovians that would distract people from all the ethnic, religious, and regional bullshit.

But yeah, China has chosen words that are not so careful about Tiawan in the past. About a year ago there was a red general that said "The USA can not stop us from taking over Taiwan with ground forces. Thus, the only thing they can do is use nuclear arms on us. If they do that, I will have no choice but to retaliate with equal force".

Pretty scary.

I just cleaned my links up too and added some new people. Deleted some as well. Those were blogs that have basically been dead for months.

A better system. Yes ... no more elections without polygraphs and the like. Give all elected official polygraph tests and let the people ask the questions. Wouldn't that be lovely? After all, it's the illusion that we have a government and righteous people leading us that hurts us.

I don't think Bush is any worse than a majority of other political leaders, but he just came in at a bad time and Clinton left at a great one.

It isn't finished yet ...

Bush trying to explain himself?

That should be something to see!

Trevor - That's why I was a little shocked at the restraint, but the implied threat is there, and yes, it is scary.

Tanya - Your blog is amazing. I hope to take some time to make my own template and create some of my own images. As for the links, I'll probably remove a few too.

Beth - Interesting perspective; very level headed. I agree there are some things that don't change from leader to leader, but a focused leader I think can make a huge difference. I think that by the time a person reaches the top, any ideology that drove them early on has been squashed, such that favors are owed and any real progress is going to be small if any at all. I just hope that everything this administration has done will have a long lasting and positive effect. There are signs that this may be so, and I'm not ready to fall in with the gloom and doom crowd, but the pull is magnetic.

Eve - Build up! Shelves and dressers and drawers, Oh MY!

Toast - Maybe we could have Tony Blair do it for him.

Heh heh!

I doubt even Tonys pompous posturing and wordplay could describe Saint George.
