Assassin

It's Employee Appreciation Week here at work. The company fed us lunch yesterday, and is sponsoring a barbeque tonight. Yesterday they played a game called Assassin. I'm not sure of the rules, but there were three assigned killers with different MO's. One was called Wolverine, and another two Killer Bee and Mad Cow. My manager was taken out by Black Mamba. The office assistant (or whatever they are called nowadays) wrote a heart-wrenching obituary for each. At the request of the deceased, no services will be held. The families ask, that if you want to honor their memories, to buy me a new house.

No time this morning. I was up all night watching my Cowboys in their second preseason game. The media can't get enough of Terrell Owens' hamstring, and in his absence, is trying desperately to create a quarterback controversy. Good luck with that.

Consider this post a note on the refrigerator, ala Erica, to say: Just stepped out for a little while. Be back tomorrow.

I have a love/hate relationship with the Cowboys. I love them because I am a Dallas girl and it's required. I hate them because they (and the entire NFL)steal my husband from me every August and don't return him until January. And joy of joys, this year he's discovered *gasp* fantasy football.

Maybe I could send the Black Mamba after Jerry Jones.

Moni - Aw, you had me for just a moment there!

Jaye - Ooh, my wife would say something quite similar. She was mad at me for staying up so late last night (not the real kind of mad though). But I have Tivo, so I can record the game and watch it at a convenient hour, instead of being a slave to it. My condolences on Fantasy Football. I would say that now you are screwed, but then, ahem, just the opposite.

I did not understand your Employee Appreciation Assassin game.

I couldn't care less about football, but I know that I hate the Cowboys - Sorry.

We're college football fans, here. I have no opinion of the Cowboys, other than to say thier cheerleaders are cute.

Can't wait to see what you do with the new contest!

Kat - So I'm Oh! for two.

Ben - Against the Saints the Cowboys looked like world champions. Let's see how they play against a real time with pass rushing defensive ends...

Flood - Oh yeah, I'm really looking forward to that. I need to brain storm and come up with something unique.

Of course, everyone's burning question is "Who the hell is Erica?" Perhaps sticking with my blog persona is easier on the brain. Just a thought.

I am programmed to hate the Cowboys. I do owe you a post about that. Thanks for the reminder.

I leave you with a poem:

Life begins with football season. This you 'ready know.
I know it's just preseason,
but my Texans are 2 and 0.
Woo!

Oh no--football again and I don't 'get' it :/

So you didn't get murdered?

I quite fancy the role of assassin, might be nice ;-)

Wolverine, Killer Bee, Mad Cow and Black Mamba.

The top assassin ought to be named Tinkerbell, just for effect.

Fringes - Ok, ok, your alias it is. The Texans spanked the cowboys in their debut, as I'm sure you remember well. I judge preseason games by the first quarter or two. It's never a good sign to lose a preseason game, but it is more an indication of team depth than first-unit efficiency.

Toni - Yeah, I should have paid attention. It would have been fun to play killer for a day or two.

Bhaswati - Thanks for dropping by. I haven't been around much lately because I've been sleeping in and have left myself no time to play.

Mr. Schprock - I like that one. Next time I'll use that one.

Cheryl - An eagles fan!?? You must be loving waiting with anticipation for the big explosion in Dallas huh? I don't think you will be satisfied though. Big Bill knows what he's about. And truth be known, I think we have a talented young receiving corp, and may not need him. Nice to have wants and not needs. I promise not to rub it in when we spank the Eagles up one side and down the other of the field =8>)

Quarterback controversy my foot, Bledsoe could wipe the field with Romo. All Tuna was trying to do was see what he had in Romo - after all, Bledsoe could get hurt (bite my tongue). They'll probably be happy to have the first games on the road because the temps here are just too nasty for football - 110 last Sunday.

One of our columnists said after Monday's game that he wasn't going to mention the name T.O. in his column - who needs him when we have Witten, Glenn and Hurd (who has become Owens' protogee). I think T.O. is a little anxious now to prove something. We'll see. MRI today. It's Flozell I'm worried about.
