Ironic Job for a woman

Here's a quickie: name a job that would be ironic for a woman to perform. One suggestion would be auto mechanic, since classically women are taken advantage of by repair shops. The best would be a business dominated by men, like coal mining in North Country, that would just have fits if they found themselves suddenly working for a woman.

Hmmm, CEO in a Muslim country?
A high rigger anywhere?

Bernita - thanks for the feedback. It needs to be an American business, but you are on the right track. I'll have to look up high rigging...

Foreperson(?) on a construction site. My father was a Master Carpenter and would have hated that.

Toni - Now that is clever. As a part of another story, I may use that one day.

Bailey - Yeah, I think I'm running with that. I know that industry anyway, so my imagination won't be stretched too thin.

Thanks!

Any more ideas???

Most of the ones I can think of have been done in fiction. Oooh, how about proctologist? ;)

The Politically Correct answer is that this job does not exist. (wink)

My husband has been a welder for 8 years in 2 different companies and his co-workers in the shop have been 100% male.

Navy Seals?

Crab fishing?

President?

Barber?

Mechanic?

Priest?

Truck driver?

LOL... Ok. I'm done.

What about a woman urologist? I don't know exactly what the scope of work for urologists is.

Just checked and yep, it's what I thought. I don't know, however, how many women there are.

It would even the ground a little more for women who have to see male gynecologists.

Jaye - That's not bad!

Tee - I'm writing stories, and I would do well to tear social boundaries asunder. I love your ideas. It's funny, I've talked to a few people, and most can only come up with one. Nice imagination you have. And you're an excellent writer!

Devon - I like your thinking. The irony of a female funeral director is well conceived. Thanks for giving it a whack.

Moni - Hey, that's pretty good. A woman who profits from the objectivication of women.

Ruby - That's not bad either. That would be just a little bit uncomfortable--in more ways than one!

Head of 'Fathers for Justice'?

Kind of like a black man being the head of a white supremicist cult?

Yup.

I guess I missed one of the prerequisites: somebody in authority that guys would have to work for.

That would be a good one: having a woman coach NHL, NFL, soccer or even baseball, though I think the big bruisers in the first two sports would take most exception to kowtowing to a woman. I can only remember a hockey team in one story that had a female physical trainer.

BTW, did you know that women are allowed to be doctors in Muslim countries but not nurses? A friend of mine went as nurse to Saudi Arabia, I believe, and told us that. I couldn't see the rationale behind that.

Hmm. I wonder why the one comment came out as "anonymous". (8:08 PM)
