Full Time

I just accepted a full time job at my company this morning. Maybe now they'll give me a flat-screen monitor. No more worries about impending contract end dates. I've grown accustomed to being here, and there are some good people whose company I enjoy.

Just last week I took a walk with a few co-workers and enjoyed a concentrated bout of guy talk. Believe me girls, you don't want to know. I will say that it takes a long time to reach the level of comfort needed to partake in such banter.

Gotta get some work done. I've been slacking, and now is not the time for the malaise to catch up with me.

Wonderful news, congrats! Great way to start a Monday.

You have me curious though. What *do* you fellas say during guy talk? I promise not to tell anyone you told.

Sounds like you're happy and that's the important part.

I grew up with two brothers - thanks for sparing us the "guy talk" subject matter. LOL

Kat - Yes it is.

Toni - Thanks

Jason - So true.

Flood - You know, physics, and the properties of physics. Boring stuff.

Eve - Whaddya think I'm gonna do, spoil my nice guy image?

Good man! Congratulations on the full time gig.

Guess what? I'm reading Old School! Kathleen mailed it to me (God bless her). I'm more than halfway through and am loving it. Wolff is some kind of writer, isn't he?

You guys talk physics at work too? We say stuff like, "I'd like to try a little cold fusion with her" and "I'd like to check out her molecular structure." We're pretty into it.

Scott,

Congrats on the full time gig.

My husband works in an environment that's mostly guys. I shudder to think about what goes on there. I do know there's a running joke they stole from The Office "That's what she said..."

It makes me so proud.

Mr Schprock - Yeah, you get the idea. "I'd like to reverse her polarity!" I'm stoked that you are reading Old School. Was I right or was I right? I knew you would appreciate him. Now there is a man I would like to meet.

Hmm, is that the bbc or american version of The Office. I saw the BBC version and loved it. It was painful to watch at times, but hysterical. And if it can be believed, David Brent actually turned out ok in the very end.

*clap!* I hope you get that flat screen. You deserve it and the job (if the job is enjoyable, that is!)

Ha!

Yes, I know what you mean. I tend to mutate into a foul lascivious beast in the company of other men. The talk of sports, engines and female flesh gets me worked into a rabid predatory frenzy.

But the fever soon passes.

Moni - Ah, well it's not that exciting of news actually. It is nice, but the future promise of making even more money is dulled. I think the quality of life just went up a few notcheds though, even if it isn't so glamorous.

Jaye - I suspected so. I'll have to check it out then. But only because you said so!

Claire - That is so true. I do feel better about that.

Miranda - It's a job. It's the thing I do while pursuing my other dreams.

Toast - That's the part I wonder if women understand. Good quote.

Dixie - Thanks, I really appreciate that.
